“Wolf” has been our Senior Sire and one of our most outstanding stud males for several years here at Artemea Cattery. He produced numerous champions and was himself a Champion in both the Cat Fanciers Association and The International Cat Association.

Wolf sired fantastic kittens for us both when we lived in Maine, and after our move to New Mexico in May 2004 and has made many fans along the way.

One such fan is a man named Todd Ellis, who had loved Wolf ever since he had seen him in Maine years ago. (Todd owns another Artemea cat – former CH Artemea Rudy the Survivor). In December, 2004, Todd contacted us, as he had several times over the years, to see if we planned to retire Wolf. We knew that Todd had always loved Wolf, and we also knew that Wolf would live a life of happy luxury as a neutered companion cat with Todd. After much soul searching, we decided that the time was right for Wolf to be retired, particularly since we had his son CH Artemea Once in a Blue Moon ready to take over the reins as head stud cat.

An agreement was reached and shortly before Christmas, Wolf flew back across the country, to New Hampshire, to live with Todd, his wife, and Artemea Rudy the Survivor.

Since Todd works for a lobster company…and since we REALLY
missed Maine lobster after moving to the desert southwest….
Todd sent the following on New Year's Eve....

which led to a somewhat lobster-crazed Ashley at New Year's Eve dinner...

(CH Artemea Spirit of the Wolf x CH Artemea Dancing Daisy Divine)

After growing to a massive 24 pounds, having a great show career, and siring wonderful kittens for us, we decided that Charlie, also, deserved his own home and days in the sun as a “pet companion”.  So, in October, 2004, Charlie made the big move to Houston, Texas, to become the beloved companion of Elka Tenner – who had always wanted her own purebred Maine Coon.
