Artemea Maine Coons are affectionate companions that share our lives and those of new owners who promise to be responsible pet caretakers. All our kittens are sold on a contract that requires that an Artemea kitten:
  • is never declawed
  • is always kept indoors, on a leash or in an enclosed shaded run
  • is neutered/spayed before eight months old. (if sold as a pet/show kitten)
  • is never sold to a pet shop, donated to a laboratory or mistreated
Artemea kittens are not released to new homes until at least 12 weeks of age, after receiving all necessary inoculations, although we sometimes invite viewing of kittens by prospective owners beginning at eight weeks of age. We provide two rounds of inoculations, at 9 and 12 weeks, along with a vet exam and health guarantee.
When one of our kittens shows particular potential as a show/breeding cat, we will consider selling the cat as a show/breeding animal. Our contract for such a sale includes additional guarantees as to fertility, along with additional stipulations as to care. Breeding is not something to be undertaken lightly so we are very careful in placing such animals and usually only sell to breeders we know. Currently, one of our breeding females is in Switzerland and we look forward to hearing about Artemea Maine Coons proving their worth in European breeding programs. We strive for show quality animals in all our breedings and very often a kitten that is sold as a "pet" can be successfully shown by its new owner. We are always happy to assist new owners in entering the sometimes confusing world of cat shows.
